C'mon, you didn't really think TechnoRV and Geeks on Tour could spend a day together without indulging in at least a little Digital Dreaming did you? Both of us really enjoy sharing our information and there's just never enough time to do it all at other rallies - so, we thought: how about a Techno Geek rally? Just us and our customers, or anyone interested in learning.
And, the ideas just started pouring out.
Phil likes Tai Chi, and he says he could do a class each morning to get everyone started. I said I'd like to have a photo-sharing and editing session each evening. Phil would give his digital photography seminar and maybe a daily assignment. He suggested that their daughter, Ally, could lead a photo field trip each day. She's really good, he says! We could have a slide-show contest at the end - we'd teach Photo Story and MovieMaker. Of course we'd have plenty of blogging instruction and GPS navigating, maybe do some geocaching. Everyone would know what's going on because it would all be on Facebook.
Both Jim and Phil could collaborate on presenting a Safe Computing seminar. And, we'd like to have an open Q&A session each morning. We all thought a 'show and tell' session would be fun, where everyone brings their favorite gadgets and talks about them.
and a smart phone round table ...
and iPad / Android shootout ...
and ...
and ...
I think this rally needs to be at least a month :-)!!
Anyone interested?

What fun we had! And the more I think about the rally, the more excited we get. Here's a few more ideas we had:
A Product Testing RoundTable where we review some new Gadgets
A Digital Music Session (PodCasts, iPod's, Ripping, Burning, Streaming etc)
Mac Vs PC Shoot-out
Safety Seminars (Personal Safety, Electrical Safety, Towing Safety)
Plus I think we'd need to make sure that we had lots of fun. Karaoke? Wine tasting? Pot-lucks? Live GadgetPlex coverage. Love to hear people's feedback.
Sounds like a great idea!
What if you did it as a pre or post rally? I would love it. I never did get to as many seminars at NEAR as I would have liked.
How about a session on Google+?
What a great idea! Please do it!
Sounds like a winner!
There would be alot of takers for the rally I'd bet. Suggestion: How 'bout an e-reader session.
Sound so great! What kind of lead time does putting together a rally like that take? And what part of the country were you contemplating? We've never attending a rally yet, but I would be so interested in this one. Put out some tentative thoughts about the whereabouts and "whenabouts" so we can all start to envision the event! What a unique and fabulous idea, and imagine how interesting your attendees would be as a group! I'm so glad you guys came up with this!
Do it at the right time for us and I would do a Solar/Electrical series of seminars....
I'd also do an enhanced wifi via CPEs one if you did not do it....
We were there, too! Did that then Ben & Jerry's. We really loved VT and hope to go back.

This is nice guys. Traveling with the interest of sharing what you have known to other people of the same interest is great.. Kudos for both of you and your team as well..
