Florida Family Visit

Jim and I are from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We sold our house there in 2003 and have been on the road ever since. For the last several years we have wintered in Fort Lauderdale - getting plenty of time to spend with family. This year is different because the 3 big rallies that we always go to and present our technology seminars are all in the west in February and March.

We flew to Florida and stayed at my Mom's townhouse in Fort Lauderdale for nearly 6 weeks - 10/6 to 11/12/14 (minus the week in the Bahamas.) It's good to visit with Mom, even though Alzheimer's has taken her completely away from me, she still looks good, walks good, and enjoys a walk in beautiful surroundings.

I was glad that I could arrange for her brother, John to visit.

We also got to spend some time with the grandkids.

We're not quite sure what to do with kids!
In case you're worried that we're completely inept when it comes to grandparenting skills ... that is actually a bottle of blueberry soda!

We have lots of family birthdays in November. Jo Ellen celebrated her 60th with a big party, and we claimed it as the November birthday party for all of us.

It was a good visit. Feels weird to leave in a plane. We do like Florida, this will be where we continue to return, and whenever we choose to hang up the keys, this will be where we settle.  In the US anyway. I am following our friends Donna and Stu with much interest - they were fulltime RVers and are now living in Ecuador! See their blog: http://ecuador-bound.blogspot.com/

On our way back to Arizona.
