Blue Claw Another productive day parked at Sea Lyon's Bayside resort. I did some good work at the computer. Jim got the bikes down and oiled them up and we went for a nice ride in the afternoon. They've gotten a little rusty hanging on the back of the motorhome. When Jimmy got home from work, he checked his crab traps and, sure enough! There was dinner. They're called 'Blue Claw' crabs. They're a lot of work for a little bit of meat, but oh what a delicacy.

Atlantic City We played tourist today ... decided to visit Atlantic City about 45 minutes away. I've never seen 'The Boardwalk' except in movies. I really liked it. The boardwalk goes on for miles - somewhere between 4 and 5. I was particularly impressed with the wood and it's obvious durability. We found out that it was made from Bethabara and/or Cumaru wood which come from South America. Beautiful and durable ... but, we want to preserve the rainforest right? Lots of casinos here - they look pretty much the same as casinos in Vegas, Reno or Tahoe. We didn't pay much attentionto them. But, there's also a beach and dunes and the boardwalk. This was the BEST pizza I have ever had!

Another day at the computer The technology that allows us to live this way truly is amazing. Because of the Internet and 'remote control' software I am able to sit in my motorhome on the Bay in LBI New Jersey and work with a client in West Palm Beach Florida. I don't mean that I do some work and e-mail it to him. We virtually worked side-by-side this morning. Both of us operated his computer. I would do the Access work as he watched. I would instant-message him an explanation of what I was doing. He would then take over and try to use what I had just done. I could watch him and let him know exactly what to do. So cool. He reads this Blog too ... [Hi Gil!]. Y'know we could talk on the phone rather than using IM. But then we wouldn't have those cute smiley faces! Jim's been working on the 'Loft Project'. He has the floorboards all torn up now and the water is gone. But it's not going to do us much good to replace everything unless we find the @#$*@! leak. Jim started poking around outside and found that the clearance lights on the front of the coach were cracked and full of water. Maybe he found the culprit! The Loft Project You've seen some pictures of our cozy 'loft'. The next picture isn't so cozy. There's always been some problems. It's the one place in the motorhome that we knew needed some work. It had water stains when we bought it, and there were times when it was damp under the cushions after a rain. But, Jim did a lot of caulking on various spots outside and it seemed to get better. As you know we recovered the cushions - getting rid of the musty old covers. Well, yesterday it rained ALL day. Actually a very nice day - Memorial day - but we had our party the day before, so we just relaxed and enjoyed the sound of the rain on the roof. Well, today we noticed a sloshing sound when we climbed up into the loft. Omigod ... yep, it sounded like a waterbed. So, no time like the present ... Jim ripped up all the coverings and discovered that some leak somewhere was collecting water underneath the floorboards in the cab over area we call the loft. It's all gone now, and he has a project ahead of him to replace the styrofoam, plywood and carpeting. And, of course to find the leak that causes this! May as well take care of this now, while he has Jimmy's help and construction tools. Meanwhile, I cooked up some of the Bluefish that Jimmy caught the other night. Yum, almond encrusted fish with grilled vegies.
