The Loft Project
You've seen some pictures of our cozy 'loft'. The next picture isn't so cozy. There's always been some problems. It's the one place in the motorhome that we knew needed some work. It had water stains when we bought it, and there were times when it was damp under the cushions after a rain. But, Jim did a lot of caulking on various spots outside and it seemed to get better. As you know we recovered the cushions - getting rid of the musty old covers.
Well, yesterday it rained ALL day. Actually a very nice day - Memorial day - but we had our party the day before, so we just relaxed and enjoyed the sound of the rain on the roof. Well, today we noticed a sloshing sound when we climbed up into the loft. Omigod ... yep, it sounded like a waterbed. So, no time like the present ... Jim ripped up all the coverings and discovered that some leak somewhere was collecting water underneath the floorboards in the cab over area we call the loft. It's all gone now, and he has a project ahead of him to replace the styrofoam, plywood and carpeting. And, of course to find the leak that causes this! May as well take care of this now, while he has Jimmy's help and construction tools.
Meanwhile, I cooked up some of the Bluefish that Jimmy caught the other night. Yum, almond encrusted fish with grilled vegies.
