Next day we decided to check out a few more covered bridges, then have dinner at the winery that Howard and Linda of RV-Dreams had recommended. Geeeeeezz – this country is so picturesque!
I was really kicking myself for not grabbing my good camera before we set out on this little jaunt – I could have spent all day just taking pictures of covered bridges. I’ve gotten so complacent with just taking out my phone (Droid) to snap photos. For little, onscreen pictures like this – I think it does a pretty good job – so I’ve gotten lazy.
Then it was time for the wineries. Believe it or not, there are lots of Ohio Wineries. We drove just a little further to the town of Conneaut which is right on Lake Erie and has several wineries. Homes are up on a hill and this picture shows a staircase leading down to the beach. Very inviting. As we drove around, both Jim and I were commenting on how much we liked this area. BUT, we reminded each other that it’s July … I’m sure this is covered in snow and VERY cold in the winter time.
The Pièce de Résistance to end our day was dinner at the Tarsitanos Winery and Café. OMG was it delicious!
Appetizer: Homemade bread, roasted red pepper stuffed with gorgonzola and Proscuto and basil. Good, chewy, wine. The best part was the homemade raviolis. If Jim ever sees me licking my lips while I’m sleeping … I’m dreaming of Tarsitanos!
Satisfied and satiated, we went back to Kenisee Lakes Thousand Trails. Ready to hit the road after a two week stay here. On to Vermont and the FMCA NE Area Rally. See our Facebook page for details on the seminars we’ll be doing there.

Looks like a great time! Bike rides are fun and the bridges beautiful! All I can say is...bucket list, LOL!
Cheers! ~M
Glad you are enjoying our former homeland. It is lovely in the summer with the lake view areas. But, come winter time, Ashtabula County is the picture in the dictionary beside the term "Lake Effect Snow"!
See ya down the road...

After reading yours and Linda and Howard's blog, makes me ready to pack up for Ohio. We love the rail to trails bike trails. Another great state with abundant paved trails is Minnesota. We hope to ride the Paul Bunyan trail and the Lake Wobegon trail this fall.
I prefer going around on bike, if time permitted, i think it is both environmentally friendly and we can stop at anywhere we like, we needn't consider whether it is a place allowed to park and if go out on foot, i will feel a little bit tired, agree? Greetings from China. I am also a fan of tour and travel, welcome to have a visit at my blog, Wish you the best!
Looks like great riding. I do some RV-ing in the summers, and I take along a Montague folding bike - rides great, and folds up so it's easy to fit inside.
Hi Chris. We're revising our TTrails reservations because of all the flooding in the east. We are looking at reservations at Kenisee Lakes in October. Hmm, one week or two, what do you think?

Such fun and enjoyable bike riding in the Rails to Trails - the Western Reserve Greenway Trail. But i love the covered bridge, very strong and accident-free bridge. Is it applicable for a covered bridge wedding? What do you think?Covered bridge weddings are very romantic and remarkable as well.
