Our neighborhood
It's lookin' up doncha think? These monsters dwarf our little (30 foot long, 12 feet high) motorhome. You have to look real hard to see it back there with the yellow kayak on the car!
And, here's the real 'millionaire's row'! Notice that one of the towed vehicles is a Hummer. Notice also that these coaches are pulled in forwards. They normally back into sites, but these sites overlook the Pacific Ocean. A pretty nice view to have out your front window.
We held another computer seminar today. I'd forgotten how different every audience can be. Sometimes the material and the audience are a perfect match. Sometimes the material is completely over the heads of the audience and you're falling all over yourself trying to explain it. And then there are those where the material is stuff they all know and you're trying to throw in as many tips and tricks as you can think of ... without losing the others! No wonder I got burned out after doing it for 14 years with Computer Savvy.
There's still nothing like the feeling you get when people really do learn though. You see that light of understanding and feel gratified that you've made a difference. It's a good challenge.
We also think the flaky problems with the Wi-Fi got solved today. Justin, one of the installers, answered our desparate call and drove over here from central Oregon. He determined that the cable modem (installed by the cable company ISP) was configured incorrectly. He bought a new switch and hooked up the cable modem to it, and everything is working really well right now. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
So, today was not the best of days ... but confidence is high for tomorrow!
