Emerald Pools

So we stayed another day to do a real hike. Still not like my backpacking days of 20 mile hikes with 20 pounds on my back .. but, it was a real hike. Climbing over 200 feet in elevation and hiking a total of about 3 miles up to a waterfall on the side of the canyon. The hike is to 'Emerald Pools' - there's a lower, middle and upper Emerald Pool. We went to the middle and to the upper. Here's photos: Some brilliant flowers along the way. I believe this is scarlet gilia. and unique pathways This may look inviting as a slide until you know what you're sliding to We always stop to 'smell the roses' And, here's the waterfall at the top which starts it all
