On the Road
We left Long Beach Island yesterday morning. What a gorgeous day! And, notice the cover on the windshield of the Honda. Thanx to Lynne for making this for us so we don't get cracks!
We need to be in Hutchinson, Kansas on Saturday morning, June 19. That's about 1400 miles, so we figured 7 days, 200 miles/day. Jim sat down at his Mappoint program and plotted us a course. Last night we made it about 2/3 across Pennsylvania to Shawnee State Park. Here's some of the sights along the way:

We stopped for the night at
Shawnee State Park. Very pretty - lots of trees. The satellite could not be found thru the trees which is why I'm writing this today. We just pulled off the highway at the West Virginia Visitor Information Center and raised the dish for a while. Anyway - we were the only people in the campground last night who weren't sleeping in a tent! Interesting. The kids envied us. The parents probably wished we would go away!
It was pretty foggy when we left there this morning. Made the beautiful scenery a bit ethereal.

Now, if my purpose was to take prize-winning photographs, I certainly wouldn't be shooting thru the window of a moving car, but, my since my purpose is to share our experiences with you .. I do. Besides, this new Canon Digital Rebel that my Dad gave us makes 'em look pretty good doncha think? It adjusts the shutter speed to stop the movement, and it lets me shoot several times very quickly, so I'm bound to hit the target once. Thanx Dad!
It's just a little sliver of West Virginia that borders Pensylvannia here - only 10 miles wide. So we'll be in Ohio soon. We're staying at another State Park tonight so Internet is iffy. CU Later
